SIDS Central Region Celebrates Women’s Empowerment and Academic Excellence in Kapit

Kapit, 30 March 2025 – The Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Central Region successfully hosted a two-day event highlighting the importance of education and the empowerment of women, drawing members and guests from across the region.

On 28 March 2025, SIDS Headquarters organized the Barbara Mendu Bay Education Talks in Kapit, aimed at inspiring academic excellence among young Dayak students. As part of this meaningful program, outstanding top scorers were awarded educational funds, affirming SIDS’ ongoing commitment to supporting the younger generation in their academic journeys.

This was followed by a glamorous evening on 29 March 2025 with the Majlis Makan Malam Hari Wanita SIDS Central Region 2025, a special gala dinner held in honor of Women’s Day. The event was officially officiated by YB Jefferson Jamit, who commended SIDS’ role in empowering Dayak women and acknowledged their contributions to community development. The dinner celebrated achievements, unity, and the vibrant culture of the Dayak community.

These events not only reinforced SIDS’ mission to uplift Dayak women and youth but also showcased the strong leadership and communal spirit that defines the Central Region.
